Just experienced some outrageously good customer service from GCI Outdoor. I have several of their camp chairs. One, the PICO, I have had for over 4 years. It's been used for camping, watching the daughter's volley ball games when she was in high school and just about anytime I need a comfortable place to park my *****. Recently, after fishing the upper Deschutes, I was enjoying an adult beverage and I heard/felt a pop. Yep, the beloved PICO busted one of the cast aluminum fittings. Not a huge surprise that this happened considering these fittings are probably cast from the finest floor sweepings available.
A week ago I called GCI to see if they would send me a replacement fitting. The customer service guy, Bruce, said 'No problem, when did you buy the chair?'
Me: A little over 4 years ago.
Bruce: Do you have the receipt?
Me: If I do, I have no idea where it might be.
Bruce: No worries. Send me an email with a picture of the busted unit and your name, address, phone number and email address.
So I took a couple of pics of the 'busted unit' and sent it off to Bruce.
A few minutes later I received a reply. It simply said, 'Perfect. Replacement part on the way.'
Friday the part arrived … a brand new PICO chair.
