My question to you all is regarding some of the "quality" issues I found tonight in my well lit garage...

Should I make a big deal about these things?

Or are things like this common with welding?

I would go back, maybe explain to them your wanting something with a more weather tight seal (assuming you are) I see a lot of instances like this in my line of work where fabricators perform the minimum to make it structurally sound, but maybe not aesthetically pleasing. Or they don't understand the intended use. Now the uneven spacing would drive me absolutely crazy.

Vegan_Jeeper,

When you went SOA, were you able to retain the shocks or are you running without them?

Thanks man....I will contact them and see what happens. I am going to look at some weather stripping to see if it would work with the different spacing :)

Those gaps are a little rough.. Looks like some make it fit welding. Your probably better off getting some 3M window seem seal ( kind of like a huge tube of RTV) You can smooth it out when its wet. Add some paint and you will have a nice tight seal at the seems. As far as the uneven sections you might have to just double up on some weatherstripping foam. Otherwise awesome build! Gathering ideas.

Just finished most of the paint, just need a little touch up here and there. I might do the cross bars in black. Also I undercoated the frame/tub with a rubberized coating.

Question: What can I plug those holes in the tailgate with!!???

No I went on Google and found there used to be little tie down loops on those...so not sure if I will just fill them with bolts (could look cool) or tie downs...

Thanks Mark!

These are still hard to find....nothing for "CJ Tailgate Footman loops." Kentrol makes some in SS, but I am not certain they will fit for the TG.
