Service Bed Trailer Build

Hello, my name is Andy... Long time reader, first time poster.
I found this old trailer on the side of Old 441 in Florida. It was exactly what I was looking for (*and at $200!). It is a fiberglass body, mini service bed (s-10 type bed). I had been researching off road trailers for a while, and was looking for something that would serve as extra space for camping, road trips, and trips to Home Depot. Extra space comes in handy when you drive a jeep. I liked the idea of a service bed. There are a few on this site, so I figure I would add a few photos to the collection. This wont be an in depth build thread, just a place to post a few pics of and ask good advice, and share any knowledge learned. Thanks....

Here is how I found her. Basically they cut the frame and welded on a hitch.

Lot of aluminum and patina. Towed nice behind the jeep!

At the fab shop getting a new frame. I painted the trailer and added more aluminum (not the best at working with fiberglass)

Nice find

I recently picked up an s-10 with utility body too($450 for the whole truck). Just wish mine was fiberglass. I won't be starting on mine until I finish the wife's bathroom remodel she's been wanting. Ill be following you to see how it turns out.

Thanks guys. Lot of questions about the new frame... you want Trailer Porn underside shots? If so I can take some.

Yeah, that bumper was a heavy. The entire frame was heavy! It was literally the frame of the S-10 it came off of. Cut off behind the cab and welded Frankenstein style.

Waterboy, I will be replacing seals. One of the next steps.

These square tubes serve the purpose of pulling out the dented fiberglass. (When bolted on it pulls out the fiberglass making it straight) Plus the will be used for carrying things like ax or surf fishing tubes.

Layed diamond plate in the main storage because the fiberglass was old and destroyed. L frame around the edges.

Your mods to the fronts are perfect. That area is great for gear you want dustfree, and dry. I would suggest luggage tie downs. Load shift and bumps have knocked my doors open.
