I wonder if the other guys were logged in to Google?

I use google Chrome, have an account, and was logged in, so maybe that was it. Or maybe it doesn't matter...I don't know.

Seems like a ******** move if they do it that way, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Pretty sure this guy is a reincarnated human. Something like a stubborn 8 yr old kid. Means the world to me.

And totally unrelated but oh so much fun. Just picked this up and can't wait to get it out and run it. As soon as I can get my trust adjusted I'm going to SBR this bugger.

Boards I would kind of understand, but google is promoting itself as alternate online storage for photos and you're supposedly able to link to those for forum usage. I dunno, maybe I did something wrong, but Pat could see them which throws me.

My new to me tires are taking their time getting here and I'm getting antsy. I'm going to try busting all these down and remounting myself. We'll see how far into that I get. I tried it once with this current set and found a couple things. That beadlock ring does not want to come out. Due in large part it seems to sidewalls that are hard as a freakin rock. I mean not like 0 flex but more like -0.5 flex. Hopefully these new ones are more forgiving.

Front end alignment matters HUGELY. I was starting to get serious death wobble and at first I chalked it up to those big, heavy, never quite evenly worn military tires. After swapping tires around a bit with no effect I figured front end wear. Had that checked by 2 different shops with a thumbs up from both. Next thought was the always slightly sloppy feeling steering box, but headed to the alignment shop first.

Even though they seem completely incapable of aligning to anything except factory specs ( I gave them the numbers I wanted and they promptly ignored them) after the alignment it is worlds better. I can still feel it lurking there on the edges, but it isn't a foregone conclusion every time I go for a ride now.

I gave them numbers passed on to me by Chris, explained to them that it was because the entire front end is custom so there are no "factory" specs, and then they went and aligned it to standard Ford E350 numbers. I even wrote it all down with numbers in inches and also converted to degrees so they had something to go by no matter which system their machine used.

Anyway, a bunch better but I'm going to take it back, explain it all all over again, and see if they can't get it spec'd according to Chris's numbers. I'm hoping that once done will be a major difference.

Nice build!!!!!

Just finished reading through you entire build thread,,,, has given me some really great ideas to incorporate on my upcoming build. One thing I really enjoyed is all the links that everyone who had input on your thread had posted to many great ideas and other builds.

Awesome job!!!!!:clapsmile

Thanks. Yep, there's a lot of good info in here, but also a lot of me rambling on unrelated crap, and plus it's gotten a bit large and unwieldy. It's my thread, I did all the work, and even I can't find half the crap I want to find when I'm trying to refresh my memory about something.

Smashed one of my emergency lights my last trip out. I thought I mucked up the housing as well so I ebay'd a replacement (red lense) and it turned out the housing was fine, but I had mucked up the thin white foam gasket. Ah well. Now I have spare housing. I think I will try to find some round flat LED boards that I can mount in there somehow, replacing the sealed beam.

During this whole thing it occurred to me that having flashing white lights weren't the most useful thing in the world so I bought yellow "emergency" lenses to replace the clear white. Being a sissy allergic to the Po Po I went ahead and bought some new clears as well just in case Johnmy Law for some reason doesnt like my yellow. Cant imagine why not. I use a rotating yellow when I have the plow on my truck. Actually that light stays there year round, but is only on when plowing. The cab lights on the van are yellow. The leading edge marker lights on the box are yellow. Anyway, the box of goodies and shout out to Pat for sourcing these buggers, and cut rate prices too.

I think they look just fine and actually match the paint scheme better. The red goes with white very well, but not so good with sand color.

UPS brought me some goodies yesterday and today both. Both were items I had been looking for about a month, and finally found at a very good price.

My new-to-me rubber showed up today. Goodyear MT/R. Load range E, 4500#. They appear to be in much better shape than the MTs when they arrived. These tires should give me plenty of cushion weight wise so I should be good to go there. Now the fun part is going to be breaking down the old rubber, removing those rat bass tard internal bead locks, and getting everything swapped over and torqued.
