Real world mileage with that is 6-8. A 4bt swap would net you 20 plus mpg highway

Really! 8 mpg? How you figure. 1ton pick-ups are all over getting better! I say 10 12mpg.....

I had a 79 E350 with the 351 and C6. It got 9-10 mpg. I also had a 91 E350 with a 351 EFI and AOD. It got 11-12. They were both extended models, but not high tops. A diesel swap, even if you got 20 mpg, would take quite a while to recoup your costs. Diesel usually costs 50-75 cents a gallon more, also.

Yea. Agree with the diesel comments. My old school IDI gets between 16 & 17. It's kinda a wash with fuel costs.

Shocker

VanDOOM!
My 89 23' Winnebago Warrior with the 460/C6 got a average of 10.8 on our last trip around California. Got over 12 on the flats. Very heavy and a true brick. So I am not sure 6mpg is true. Now that is assuming a reasonable rate of speed (60mph) and not trying to push 85 or something. At that speed, all bets are off.
