Getting ready for my trip next month to Yellowstone i decided to finish the trailer i got from Craigslist as I finish the trailer I intend to be my "main" fun trailer.

Finished it up and my CVT tent will be here Monday. I have to enlist or pay for help so I had the welder finish this up.

I think my struts are over kill at 150 lbs ea but my 9 yo can move the lid around so we will see.

I have the bars screwed on at 42" I hope the distance will facilitate the RTT adequately. I also will use the trailer for kayaks.

I hope to replace the ply wood sides and floor before the summer ends

I also did a practice load to see how the tongue extension changed the handling. It was still butter smooth.

With 2 totes of clothes, two water cans, 2 coolers and all the miscellaneous stuff I foresee coming along I think the 4x6 is a good size for this trip

I hope to put a tongue box on but the trailer jack doesn't leave room

Yellowstone next month? That will be the maiden voyage for my build, we'll be there the last week of June so if you see a yellow FJ cruiser towing a yellow matching trailer with RTT flag me down :)

Absolutely, I will have my Jeep with WI USMC plates pulling that trailer with a CVT on top. It would be funny and cool to meet forum guys on the trip. My wife wouldn't get it but still cool.

Got out to Yellowstone and the trailer pulled great for 3200 miles of the trip! Found some bugs to work out though, like different lid latch and better placement of the gas struts
