Our West Texas Adventure

Started out in the Pineywoods (Far East Texas) and ended up in Marathon/Marfa/Alpine/Fort Davis. Here is the first round of pics in which my awesome girlfriend captured along our travels.

Our trip totaled approx 1600 miles. It was such a blast. Working on a trip report as well.

Road tripping, overlanding
Hey what is that river and that bridge? Looks interesting.

In 2009 I did a 5-week road trip, San Francisco to Houston. We hit Marfa, camped there, and did the UT McDonald Observatory, and Big Bend too. It was a great road trip.

Sounds like a fun trip. I haven't seen the Pecos since its been this low, makes the old railroad bridge look twice as tall.

The blue blue water is Lake Amistad/Amistad Reservoir outside of Del Rio

the dark water is the Pecos River

How was Marfa? I've been needing/wanting to hit there and Big Bend.

Marfa is Marfa. All in its artsy fattest fashion. We stayed at El Cosmico which I say is a must. Other than that the downtown area is very nice
