Our ride up went so smoothly, that I got a false sense that going back would be equally easy...

Well, what should have been about a 5 hour drive turned into a 14.5 hour ordeal. Oh well, it was still SO worth it...

Good to see it's still paying off. I couldn't convince the wife it was worth the "crowds" so we were on the southern edge of totality. Looks like a great spot.

New Shoes

I bought the first set of GY Duratracs before the lift went on. Since the lift, I have wanted to move a size up. Finally got some new shoes:

It fills up the wheel well much better. No rubbing at all.

The older smaller set of Duratracs went to good use. They only have about 20K on them. 2x went on the Sequoia (plus 2x new ones that size). The other 2x are now spares on the Sequoia and Tundra.

Set for winter.

Great truck! Are you still on the Toytec Boss suspension? How is it holding up?

I'm still getting lots of great use out of the truck and the Toytec BOSS suspension has proven to be a very good upgrade.

I mostly use it to go to my remote cabin and take the husky along. There are lots of rough roads and the suspension seems to glide over them.

Good to know. It is nice that they are in Denver, too. I am leaning that way now. I have a similar use for my Tundra in CO. Getting the family to some remote spots, family cabins, hauling firewood, etc.

Great looking truck, I have it's twin. What size is the new tire? I have a 265/75 on stock 16"alloys and would like to go up to a 285, but concerned about rubbing on the upper control arm...I have the toytec ome 2" lift

Holy smokes! We're twins!

You're going to love this truck. I still use mine all the time. All the hours building it up have paid off in spades.

I did eventually trade in my Sequoia for a 2nd Gen 5.7 Tundra but NO WAY I ever give up my first-gen.

My cap is just held onto the rails via clamps. I think I have 4x clamps on each side. Yeah, overkill... but that's what a build is for...

The rack I have uses special aluminum struts I purchased from Unicover. To this I had to add 6.5' aluminum angle irons. It's certainly not a rack capable of holding much beyond my 100W solar panel; but that is all I need.
