Excellent thread, made it through all 734 posts today!

What prep did you do on the mirror caps & grill prior to spraying and how's it holding up? I just pulled the trigger on an '06 double cab and ridding myself of that chrome is pretty high on my wish list.

Wow. Yeah I need to fix some of the broken images.

I just did a light scuff on the chrome with scotchbrite. Laid a few coats of base than cleared it. You want to use a two part clear that has hardener in it. This is what will help the paint last longer. The cheap clear cost stuff is soft even dried and not like the factory paint. So far it's holding up. The mirrors was done with cheap clear before I found out about two part. Grill was done correctly. May redo mirrors if it fails.

This is exactly the sort of bumper i've been looking for, high clearance with tow receiver and dual swingouts, the only thing I would prefer is the fuel holder to be for 3 20L jerry cans, can the fabricator pm me a quote. I have an 03 tundra. I've been driving around with 2/3 a bumper for 2 years waiting till I could find something suitable. Thanks!

It will probably be getting a standard 2 or 3 jerry cab holder soon. The carrier on there is a one off. You will be able to get it with 3 jerry can holder if you like.

Finally got the passenger side. Was a little easier to work on. Less wires to deal with and I had more garage space.
I haven't sealed it yet but I may cut it back open where it does a 90 degree meet and try to curve it together instead. Was getting dark and this was the quickest way to finish it up for the night.

Nice welds! That factory sheet metal is THIN!

Haha yeah. I gotten a little better since this is the second time I had to cut it open lol. Basically self teaching myself to weld by just doing it lol. Found the sweet spot setting on the miller for the factory 22 gauge

Nice awning, looks clean. Are there poles that can be added at the corners to provide support on windy days? And what happened to your front fender flare?
