Identifying old camping gear-help

So short story is, my friend has what i suspect is a Roof Top Tent of sorts from the 70's or 80's which he is giving me..
he said the name on it is "Camp Hotel" ive had no luck searching for any information on this.

He said it has been in their garage for over 25 years and his father had it before he was born('88)

Are any of y'all familiar with anything labeled "Camp Hotel"?

Thanks for that link Austintaco, pretty cool stuff.

I will try to make it out to his house today and get some pictures of it before i load it up.

He is also giving me one of those all-in-one kitchen boxes that unfolds into a giant camp kitchen, so who knows what kinda loot ill be scoring! ha

well my friend was close in the name, it is called a Camp Otel... and here it is...


Canvas needs to be replaced, and its heavy as can be, but i figure, i got it for free, ill buy some canvas and make a new roof, get new foam and recover the bedding, and just keep it around for if i bring some extra people with me on a camp trip, or build a trailer for it and give it to my brother as a birthday present one day

Yup, thats it alright! should be pretty cool once its restored depending on how much it costs to refurbish it all.

worst case, ill just get the kitchen box cleaned up and load it in my van when i have a group camp trip

Nice score! I just bought a complete Camp'otel set up for our vintage camping club trips. It's gonna be sweet on the old '78 Land Cruiser! I'll be picking it up this weekend.

Do your homework on fabrics before you buy. Canvas may not be the best choice for an RTT.
