Sigh....

I changed a transmission fluid last night and my wife yelling at me that food is getting cold. I rushed it and put screw back without an O ring.....woke up this morning and found small drips all over argggg!

Its definitely her fault LOLOL!

Btw, does Montero 2.5 have transmission oil filter? Because I know some car don't and it is pretty common.

You are braver than I. I need to do it, but I struggle with mechanical things. I've only recently learned how to unscrew the gas cap :)

Getting down to the spark plugs in this thing looks like quite a chore.

I don't own a 2.5 I have a gen 3 but I did plugs / wires / valve cover gaskets / and coil packs a few months back...HOLY HELL so ridiculous how difficult they make it..especially on a truck that if taken care of will last a very long time

How many miles? I cannot find in the thread posts. If around the 120k service interval, there are other things I would do with the timing belt and spark plugs. If you are below that, be sure to plan on doing more work with the next t-belt/tune-up.

Pop it up, but do it very slowly because you do not want to damage the inner clips.

The green inner clippers are still in good condition (and I also didn't buy extras).

Pop in the new!

Easy as pie, and the longest part was to make sure I didnt damage the inner clips!!

This weekend I will spray paint the whiper arms since they are hideous.

awesome! I actually need to replace the seal along the bottom, it seems to have some kind of adhesive on it, is that a 'glass company' job?

I did not replace the bottom part because it is still in a good shape and I am not in a hurry to replace it because it's not cheap.

However, I am expecting the bottom reveal to be like the rest of all other sides.

I also did not use any sealing adhesive because I don't think I need to after a research and watching YouTube.

Similar to windshield reveals replacement, the only thing I didn't use was a rubber mallet....since I used my fist instead. Speaking of my fist as a mallet...I need to get an ice pack.

Front Torsion Bar adjustment

So I had been reading and searching the internet but it seems like I am hitting the dead end.

I am a very visual person and I need help!

These are the pictures that I took, which one is the torsion bar bolt? Or I'm not even close?

This picture is the torsion bar. It runs horizontal. I've never tightened the bars though.. I assume that you lift the front end to take all weight off the bars, then tighten them with equal turns for both driver and passenger sides.

**Edit - this is bad advice, you want the car on the ground (see jlocster post below)

I think I might be mislead when I read several forums.

For this particular model Montero2.5, do you adjust it by turning the bar itself? Or turning the bolts? Or both?
