Awesome. Do you have an estimate of the finished weight? We have looked for a replacement for our Pop up and this is along the lines that we have thought about but never developed the idea... Thanks.

It's not the lightest, built with tube steel and aluminum. My spread sheet says it should weigh between 2 and 2.5.

I'm trying to figure out how to keep my rear galley hatch from falling open. Does anyone have any good ideas on some sort of dampener to keep it from falling? I have some extra gas Springs but I think they would help push the door open and I need something to keep it opening slowly.

Thanks for posting your build. I am formulating a build for my family of five and have some questions if have time to reply. How did you frame for the box? It looks like 1x1 and will you insulate? Also, is the shell aluminum and did you attach it with tape? Lastly, how are you sealing the corners on the outside of the shell? Looks great, thanks again.

I framed with .063 1x1 with a couple pieces being .090 in strategic locations. I used 3m VHB double sided tape to adhere the .060 aluminum to the steel, then used rivits around the perimeter. That VHB tape is amazing stuff, and it provides a separation between the steel and aluminum to prevent corrosion. I plan to insulate with ridged foam board on the walks and ceiling. The edges all have butyl tape under the corner trims and finish with a bead of high quality silicon to keep it water tight.
