Started a custom camper for my Jeep a couple months ago and thought I would post a couple of pictures to show my progress.

Are you planning on using that one or are you going to use that as a form for fiberglass? Either way, I can't wait to see it mounted on your JKU.

Any good recommendations for a window manufacturer for my rear window? Preferably, I'd like for it to have lift struts and a frame already built in.

WOW this is freaking cool.. I will for sure be following this had I not started a trailer build I would consider this. My .02 on a rear window would be if you have a place close by that builds trailers maybe hit them up.

What dimensions do you plan for the window? How far do you plan to have it open - just a few degrees for ventilation or >90 degrees?

Would like for it to open 90 degrees - dimensionally, it'd need to be 18" x 40" (plus or minus...) . I've heard of the company, Dometic, and like their S4 window, but from my research, it looks as though they're not sold in the states,

The Dometic S4 is a slider window if I'm not mistaken, it doesn't open 90-degrees. If a slider is what you want, you can get custom ones made to any size at http://www.easyrvwindows.com or http://www.motionwindows.com/, although you can expect to pay $350-$400 each for custom sizes.

There are a number of surplus places in Elkart, Indiana or nearby serving the RV industry there and they often have new windows that were surplussed from the RV manufacturers. It's pot luck, but you might get lucky and find something that's close to the size you need. Typical surplus prices are $50-$100. Here are a few surplus places, unfortunately some don't list their window inventory online, and others don't list all of their inventory. Might be worth a phone call.

Another option is to keep your eye on ebay, many of the RV surplus places list their windows there even though they may not list all their inventory on their web sites.

Looking good. Keeping the wood or doing metal frame and fiberglass? Either way it should be awesome.

As of now i believe iam keeping the wood. At first i thought it would be to heavy, but at this point it only weighs around 350lbs. And iam 95% complete as far as adding weight. What advantage does fiberglass have over wood? I realy dont see saving any weight going with fiberglass. although i do plan on using fiberglass in the seems for more strength.
