Keyless Entry Module, location???? Not where it was supposed to be.

So originally got my car with only one remote. Ordered another through ebay and wanted to program it. Originally I assumed the keyless entry module would be under the dash on the driver side directions mentioned finding the module and press the button on it to allow programming. Seemed simple enough. Looked under the dash and only thing resembling that was a small box that said "security" and had an adjustment dial versus a button.

So them I stumbled across a member that mentioned it was in the rear cargo area on the passenger side behind one of the body panels. Looked in my manual and sure enough come upon this.

Ok, well that is a pain in the butt but ok. So I tear apart the back and find this? Area to the right of speaker is just a cover no module.

WTH! ABS Control was where it should be, but no keyless entry module. Anyone have a picture of what I'm looking for?
Thanks

This is the view that's given in the FSM from Mitsubishilinks.net.

Makes it look like it's attached to the D pillar vs. near the speaker, but you should be able to see an antenna somewhere near the speaker, according to this.

Nope, pulled everything a part again. Nothing in that area. Really at a loss to determine where that module is. :Wow1: Time to move on to another task.

Should be behind the left hand front speaker. Under the steering column is the shock sensor.

I just looked and couldn't seem to find it. Just some relays, fuse box, and a metal box that might be the ECU or something. I'm convinced not even Mitsubishi knows what they put in these trucks.

If so then you have the dealer installed security system. There's a different way for programming the remote too.

On your dash there should be a Red LED/Button

Turn the key to the on position, hold that button until the ds door locks and then unlocks

While still holding the button, hit the unlock button on your remote.

The door will unlock to let you know you have done it right.

You will have to program all remotes at same time, one after the other while still holding the button.

Then let go of the button and take the key out of the ignition.

You should be done and they should work fine.

Yep, that is what my remote looks like, but like Eric M, I don't believe the light is a button, just a little red light.? I'll have to check when I get home.

Yep, I have the button, but pressing it didn't do anything.
Followed the directions, I think.
Got in the car inserted the key and turned to "on" position
Doors were in unlocked but closed state.
Press and held red led/button for 10-15 seconds, and nothing. No cycling of lock/unlock.
Am I missing a step? I assumed from reading the directions pressing led/button would cycle locks, then you press "unlock" on the remote to program.
Hmmmmmmm
