bought a Scan Gauge II, previously had an Android compatible OBDII scanner, but it was unreliable. these are the codes i'm getting
P0440
P0441
P0446

also replace the spark plugs with NGK....am having this problem where it takes a while to turn over. battery looks good and wasn't the spark plugs. so next i'll check the fuel filter.

This past July 4th, my brother and I drove up to Georgia to do some backpacking. It was the 4runner's firts long trip since i've owned it and gave me no problems.

at the trailhead...black must be popular..

since the GA trip, i think i drove the 4runner only twice. bought a cb radio, antenna, antenna mount and coax cable. originally i was going to mount the antenna by the tail light, but decided to mount it up front instead. i ordered a CBI mount for the fender, still waiting on that to arrive, but meanwhile i put everything else together.

did the ash tray mount and used velcro strips to secure it

love the factory look....the mike sits in that spot without moving, but i might install the hanger it came with to the center trim piece.

i also had cut my corroded terminals off, and the positive side is too short, so i'm in the process of fixing that.

Love the mount. Is it not distracting out there though?

drove it today for the first time and it's not distracting, after all, most car radio antennas are mounted on the front fender....i did notice it was bending back a little bit the whole time due to the wind. i originally planned on mounting it by the tail gate, thus the 4' one, but now up front it's a little tall, so thinking of replacing it with a 2' or 3' antenna.

Nice 'runner, can't wait to see it with just a bit of lift to make the proportions right. Good luck.

can't take credit for building, but here is my storage/sleeping platform. found it on craigslist, couldn't pass it up.

came with a subwoofer/amp, but i removed it and will probably sell them.

this section rests on the seats flipped down and a center support section. i may change this section in the future so that i can remove the seats for more storage.

also, i took it to work one day and started to pull to the right when braking. replaced the caliper on that side...
2015-09-25%2013.54.59_zpsjlg5dxqa.jpg

....bled the brakes but that did not fix the problem. ended up taking it to a mechanic and he said it's my ABS pump. that part new is over $1000, or about $500 used!

so, truck will be sitting until i can get a used pump. i can still drive it locally, since it runs fine, just pulls when brakes.
