tundra brake upgrade....parts from a 2001 tundra, pads are Wagner Thermo Quiet, calibers are smaller 199mm's so no trimming needed, and replaced the hoses with Stoptech SS.

Next Saturday, May 14, i will be heading up to NY on a 3000+ mi. trip for about 10 days. A few stops i will be making are the New River Gorge area in WV, Niagara Falls, NY and then heading to the Adirondacks to do some backpacking. After that, heading south to Hartsdale, NY to visit family and then back south. Mostly taking scenic backroads and looking for easy off-road trails. Pics to follow..

sorry for not keeping this thread up to date...(for anyone following). i'll make a few posts of my progress, starting with pics from my trip. before i left i installed the '99 springs i had laying around, which gave me a little lift.

I remember getting a late start on May, 14. my 1st stop was Helen, GA. being a saturday i got stuck in a long traffic jam through the small town. i found a trail called Tray Mtn. Trail, my 1st trail since leaving FL.

ran into a few jeeps alongt the way, and then eventually some newer 4runners. (thanks to the green XJ for spotting me through a bad section)

i had a lot of fun exploring those trails, but it took me longer than i planned. so being behind schedule i had to hurry up to my next planned stop near Beckley, WV. had a campsite i planned on sleeping at, but did not make it that far, so got a cheap motel halfway there.

by the time i reached Beckley, started hearing a loud squealing noise, so i pull over to inspect the noise and my alt. belt had a big tear in it. where i was, i had no cell signal, looked like a deserted road near a railroad track, so decided to back track into town to find a shop, but it being Sunday, it was hard to find someone open. the next bigger town over had a Sears Auto Center, called them and they said they'd have to look at it, since they normally don't do that stuff. luckily i brought a spare belt with me and were able to get it in, i waited maybe an 1.5 hours. had fun looking at all the tools i couldn't afford ;)

took scenic back roads along Lake Ontario, towards the Adirondacks. along the way near Rochester, NY the squealing came back. everytime i filled up, i would inspect my belts, i stopped at a local shop just to inspect it, and my belt was loose, so they tightened it. squeal went away for now.

didn't take many pics on the return trip mostly video for personal use. i did try to take as many backroads as i could, drive through Amish country in Pennsylvania

i would alternate between highways and backroads for most of the way...

didn't like the looks of the factory hitch, plus it reduces departure angle, so i bought a hidden hitch/sold the old one.

Looks great. What part of Florida are you in? I'm up in Waycross, ga. Looks like you were wheeling around Ocala area?
