Yea i suppose my thinking of diesel being cheaper to run long term is quite outdated based on all the current info available. Do the 42" tires turn easily with the 4.88 gears and gas engine?

For the most part yes. I use 4 low a little more often than I might otherwise, but the truck has plenty of go off the line and cruises comfortably at 80. Im going 4:88s with 37's on the next one, but for reasons more specific to that engine and its torque curve.

I just ordered a 2020 Ram 5500 2 weeks ago (mid Feb delivery) and ordered it with 4.88 gears.

I am going to start with 37s on it and see where that takes me. If i need bigger, ill go bigger, but my gut says 37s will be the sweet spot
