Looking for some assistance. I just realized I titled this thread with a name that was already being used. I feel terrible and want to rename the thread. I am having trouble figuring out how to. Any help would be appreciated.

No worries, thread titles are no biggie. People search for things and wade thru the results to see what interests them.

Trailer is uniquely yours - you did a great job and you're out in the world enjoying it. Nice!

Looking for some input from people on the forum. I have about 10k miles on the trailer now and have enjoyed its flexibility. I was thinking about using some material I have for a simple shade. Today I messed around in the driveway trying to figure out a simple way to attach it. It seems a little low but works if you are sitting just hanging out. Don’t pay attention to how I was supporting. Just using what was laying around to set it up. You get the general idea.

What are your thoughts?

Today I decided to put the trailer on a diet. I really liked the look and the security the metal diamond plate offered but it simply was too heavy. Once removed I’d have to estimate the trailer lost 150-200 pounds. I mean that thing is heavy! The second dislike was the rack I built. Without the RTT mounted, the rack looked ok using the angles I did but the tent’s size made the rack look disproportionate. Without the diamond plate and rack, the trailer is so easy to move around by hand. 4E0EEF83-BD69-473B-9652-E86DC1E7290B.jpeg

I am keeping the lid’s main structure and either mounting the RTT directly to it or figuring out plan B (not sure what that is just yet). If I don’t cover it, I’ll have to make sure whatever sits in the trailer is in a plastic box or fine getting wet. If I build a new rack, it’s definitely going to span the entire length and width of the trailer. Anyway I look at it, I have some thinking to do. 85363453-4044-4843-A687-41E0A6E070D5.jpeg

For giggles, I mounted the tent directly to the lid and set it up. My concern is it’s too close to the ground and I will get tired of bending over to get inside it. E240DB2B-92ED-4A59-A674-F9AB694AA1AC.jpeg

While planning our next trip that will definitely involve mountain biking, I decided a rear hitch for the bike rack is in order. A stop at our local Tractor Supply got us a receiver hitch. Here it is notched in and ready for the welder. 4563378F-D35F-4809-9EAD-0566B18E538D.jpeg

Here it is welded in with some reinforcements to the next crossmember. This should keep any bounce out of it. 7541A348-C210-4721-8975-0EF9E889B967.jpeg
