My trailer should balance out pretty good...spare tire and firewood will be in back part of the tub, so lots of weight there. RTT on top centered over axle...the lid is heavy as well since its steel not aluminum.

Or the 2 gas cans outside and behind tongue box?

I think I need a bigger truck!
Sweet trailer. Did you pick it up from Gov Asset Disposal by any chance? There were a couple for sale last year in AB.

I would be a little worried about all that weight up front too. You want it a little tongue heavy, but not too much. I think moving the tongue box back, with the 2 gerry cans sideways is a better call. I found that with the identical tongue box and a single group 24 battery up front it added a lot to the tongue weight. For manually manouvering it around it is sure nice to have it as light as possible.

Balancing it out with the water inside and the tire out back will help a lot. You will see when you load it how it handles and can adjust from there.

Following this one. Nice stuff!

I actually scooped it from a guy in Fernie BC...for what I will be doing 90% of the time I won't even have fuel in he cans and will just have water.

There was one on Kijiji in Edmonton for sale that looked to be in excellent condition.

Got a few parts painted today that aren't going to be Line X'd. This is the colour the trailer will be when it's done...original green they would have used on them.

That looks awesome.

Thanks! Taking it in today to have the lid put on...have to weld the pin hinges to it so I will leave that up to the shop to get on nice and straight.

Finally got all the seam sealer stuff cleaned off to make sand blasting easier I hope!

Lid is finally on! Happy with the way it turned out. Enough room under cross bars for me to store the table that will mount to the side of the trailer at camp.

Looking good. In regards to the tongue weight, you might think about mounting the j-cans on the rear of the trailer or on each side. Depending on your travel needs, you don't want j-cans inside where your supplies have a chance of getting soaked due to a leak.

he made removable j-can mounts for the side of his jeep that might help. If you decide to mount them in the back, watch out for the departure angle so they wont get buggered up on the trail.

Fitted the tow points for my clevis's and got the slides mounted on the bottom of the rack for the table top...

The tow points have 1/4" steel plate on the back side to make sure they don't pull off. Had to put the nuts on the outside because it was tight...had to grind down the bolt heads on the bottom points. Will cut the bolts of when they r put on to stay...had to take off for Line X. They will be line X'd as well..

I have been rethinking what to do and may go with the Rotopax. They will fit on the sides behind the fenders perfectly apparently. That will work for gas but may have to stay with the larger blue cans for water on the front tongue.

Going to put it all together and see how it will work before it goes for Line X...then I can make any changes to it and not be worried about ruining the coating. Makes more work for me having to tear it down for the coating but that's ok...may take it on a camping trip first...

I don't recommend X-lining the body, maybe the under the tub. It's hard to wash the dirt/mud off the x-line body, better to paint the body. just MO. I agree put it together a try a camping trip, this will give you ideas on wants/needs. =brian
