Are cracked exhaust manifolds a common issue? I'm debating on repairing or replacing the manifold, the driver's side is clearly cracked... but I did pull the passenger side, but can't see any obvious cracks.

at nearly 150k miles, should I just replace them both? Dealer is charging around $250 a side....

Thoughts?

Yes, it is common; search ausi forums. You could also import headers. $250 is rather inexpensive for manifolds.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
My friend's Gen 3 stock manifolds cracked then he just had some made locally for a silly expensive price, they promptly cracked again so he ordered the Aussie Headers. All should be well again soon. Don't mess around just get the good stuff the first time or pay double in the end.

I'm thinking mine are cracked as well. This winter during cold starts it would sound like a diesel for the first 5 minutes with the clatter. Now it still does it first thing in the morning. Not at idle or revving. But under a load when accelerating I hear it through the firewall or if I roll down the window. It quiets down once it heats up, but I know that will change as the crack grows. I'll need to check for sure but my guess is manifolds.

If I could get stock manifolds for $250 I'd do that but I'll check out the headers for now.

Anyone on this board actually have the Aussie headers installed? I see talk about them but I think more people know they exist then actually have them on their truck...
