Addictive Desert Designs (ADD) is a Phoenix custom shop that builds desert racers. Several years ago, they worked with Ford to customize the F150. The result became the Raptor.

With the change over to the 2015 aluminum body F150, Ford shut down the Raptor until 2017. But ADD didn't want to wait. The result is the F150 XT from ADD.

I think it's a bit misleading to say ADD helped develop the Raptor. Foutz Motorsports stripped and race prepped an F-150 FX4, adding some Raptor body parts and components to as part of a marketing effort for Ford. According to the article, Greg Foutz is the General Manager at ADD, and the companies are pretty much right next to each other.

But anyway, not saying their products or work is bad or anything, but Foutz was involved in the marketing of the Raptor and in the aftermarket, not OEM product development.
