Silversurfer's M101 CDN Expedition Trailer

Awesome build. I have an M116 trailer and I need to do two things to it, hook up the parking brakes and add shocks. I changed out my axle and lost the lower mounts for the shocks that were on the axle. How did you mount those shocks to your axle? Can you post some picks? Also, I have the existing parking brake cables that go down to the axle which has a parking brake feature but I don't know where to find the hardware to attach the cable to the axle. Where did you find that hardware in the picture? Neither my local trailer shop nor e-trailer.com could help with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi
My shocks are attached to the original shock mount plates

You could try something similar to this.. Simply fabricate new mounts and weld them on.

As for the brakes, I fabricated all new plates for mine because my cable length changed.. I think the two systems would be a little different, here is the PDF of the M116 manual, you want to go to page 119.

Also you May want to try the people I had make up my new brake cables..

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll call Madison on Monday. Looking at their website they should be able to help me without a problem. Thanks for the pictures as well. I'll look to use the same location for a lower shock post on the spring. I think it will work. Thanks again adn good luck completing your build!

Added one or two propane holders to the back fender using a 20 pound fire extinguisher mount that I modified to fit the 5lb bottle! I wasn't about to pay $150-$200 for a purpose built propane mount, this one will work perfectly fine for $45

Fits perfectly
