'14+ Subaru Forester Wheel and Tire Options?

I'm ready to upgrade the wheels and tires on my '15 Forester to all terrains on smaller wheels. It has 225/50 R17 Geolander G91 PoS, err I mean M&S.

Does anyone know what larger size tires I can comfortably run without a lift? (Discoverer AT3 or Geolander AT-S, depending on size options)
Can I fit a 15" wheel?
Are 15" rally wheels a good idea or a bad idea? (Team Dynamics Pro Rally)

Thanks for any help, I'm new to Subarus and I've been unsuccessful searching for this information online.

235/60R17 Discoverer AT3's will fit on the factory wheels.

225/70R16 if you can find some 16's that clear your brakes, and same with the 15's.
