Just as a data point, in 1989 I built a camper from thin wall steel, no galvanize, and .050 aluminum sheet. A far as dents, I don't mind them. It gives the camper character and recalls grand memories :ylsmoke:. My rigs are not mall cruisers. I powdercoated the frame, and used an RV sealant between the parts. I used closed end aluminum rivets. The camper was mounted on my first expedition rig, so it got a lot of hard use. I no longer have it, but I know where it is. 28 years later it is still sound. No popping rivets or rot.
Galvanic corrosion does not require contact to happen. If a small gap exists between bare parts, and gets filled with some electrolyte, then the connection is made. You essentially have a battery and metal will start moving.
