Soft Shells

I bought one of the condor type softshells.

Me too.

Got it through Amazon and was throughly disappointed when I saw it. Sloppy stitching, broken zipper....junk. Looked at the mailing label and it was straight from China yet the coat label said made in the USA. Whoa that doesn't make sense....checked with Condor and yes a counterfeit knock off. Do not deal with trade4international as a second party seller on Amazon!

Ordered another through a recommended vendor by Condor and what a great jacket! All YKK zippers and quality construction...what difference.

I got the Condor 602 Summit last Friday via Amazon.

They do run a but small, and I do find it a little annoying there are no hand pockets on the sides like normal jackets.
But I wore the coat to go see the new Thor movie last Saturday, and rain literally bounced off the jacket, and any rain that remained were small micro drops.

I ended up buying the other day two more for my sons for Christmas presents.
The zipper was a little hard to get started, it would not seat all the way at the bottom, but I think I have it broken in now.

I was all set to buy the TAD Tracer, but two things turned me off about it.
No sleeve closures, so the sleeves would creep up and let in cold air.
The material of the Tracer pills after a short while and looks horrible according to the many online reviews I read.
Plus the Summit was half the price.

I will have to see how it holds up over the winter.
I did buy some KnikWax brand cleaner and DWR treatment you put in the wash machine to treat it in the future should it need re-waterproofing.
