97 F250 PSD Winch install behind stock bumper + 2' receiver

I've been using a front mounted Curt receiver to haul a moto w/carrier for awhile now and wanted to add a winch but not a ton of weight typically associated with a huge overbuilt winch style bumper. Main reason being the moto and carrier is already adding about 300 lbs so weight could get out of hand quick. Anyways I stumbled across a thread where a couple guys pulled off a winch/stock bumper install on their Broncos which has a similar layout to my OBS F250.
I took a bunch of measurements and it looked possible on my rig as well so I pulled the trigger on a 1150 tiger shark super winch and got a universal winch plate as well. After getting the goods in hand I started modding the winch plate to fit over the 2' receiver added gussets where needed and had a buddy who's an excellent welder marry it all together. I got some mag light wall mount brackets and riveted em to the back of the lic plate and it now snaps over the outer fairlead rollers to hide it and keep things legal. Its a tight fit but I'm very happy with the result and you hardly even notice its in there with the lic plate snapped over the fairlead.
It also looks like I can also use the winch with a moto in front of it..STOKED!!

Mag light mounts fit the fairlead perfectly so a few pop rivets later and enter the Stealth Winch!. There is just enough room to work the clutch and plug the remote in

Nice job!

With plans to haul a small moto, I opted to fab up and install a dual receiver on the front of mine.

Cool the dbl receivers make a very stable mount, have you test fit a bike yet? You may find it sits a bit high if its a dirt bike. My ladys KL250 which is pretty short is just the right height and my receiver exits just below the bumper.

Nope, still havnt built the rack.

Nor do I have the bike ready.

The bike is an old trail 90 thats in pieces in the shop.
Its one of my to-do projects.

it will be getting a 140cc swap, and some other goodies to modernize t. :ylsmoke:

That is a smaller foot print on the front of your rig for sure so it may be perfect, the higher you can get away with the better for ground clearance. To do projects...I've got a few myself!

Looks good! I plan on building a bumper for my truck but knowing I can hide the winch in the stock one means my custom one can be pretty low profile and still fit the recovery equipment.
