6" Lift on a 2015 Sport

After 4 1/2 months it's finally done. The lift is 6" and all height settings still work. The pictures are taken in "normal" height mode. The tires are 35" requiring some slight fender trimming but it's hardly noticeable. 37" tires fit but there's more trimming required so I'm going to stick with the 35's for now. Heading to Moab in the next month or so to test her.

You gotta go into more detail on this... Did you create a spacer for the whole frame to body connection? Or is the 2015 sport not a body on frame truck? Nice work, that's one unique rover.

Basically this entire assembly has been lowered:

That's why the stock air bags and height settings still work. There's a lot more to it then meets the eye.

If you're interested, Google "J Auston Fabrications", that's who engineered my lift. He makes the same lift kit for H1 Hummers. The idea is basically the same for the Range Rover.

Very Cool. Is it just a sub frame spacer or do you have to modify the propshaft length, drop the transfer case, etc? It looks like the rear drop is dead simple, how is the front? I'm guessing you have to relocate the subframe AND the engine mounts?

You nailed it.

Give us some updates on the trip when you get back. Eager to hear about how it goes and see some action pics.

Based on those H1 kits those things are more than some of the LR3's floating around... Awesome you can run a 35" tire... How does the truck drive with that much lift?

Tire Clearance +; Ground Clearance =?

If I'm understanding correctly this is a body only lift?

So you've created more clearance for tires and not explicitly changed the ground clearance of the vehicle (you get increased ground clearance from the change in tires). All of the suspension geometry remains the same?

Interested to hear about your experience driving this on highway and then on slick rock. Have a great trip!

The LR3/4 is definitely a body on frame construction. There was a video floating around of a rover shop taking the entire body off of the frame. I belive it was time-lapsed and I think they did it in one day. Ever since then, I've wondered why nobody makes a body lift kit for these. I would think 1-2 inches would be pretty feasible.
