Brazed a big hydraulic fitting in the gas tank:

25855784ik.jpg

Brazed on some mounts:

25855799dg.jpg

25855805jt.jpg

And made a filler cap:

25855811sj.jpg

All together:

25855819lu.jpg

Mounted a couple hood fixtures:

25855843jh.jpg

Put on the shifter for the second gearbox:

25855853fi.jpg

And made a linkage for the first one:

25855861vj.jpg

25855872dn.jpg

25855878ix.jpg

Put on some headlights:

25855883yq.jpg

And a total:

Anyone able to photoshop this with some John Deere colours? Think this`d look good, but not sure about all the copper and brass...

i dont know about the deere colors, it kinda looks like a medieval helmet, i think it would look good in grays and silvers to make it look battle worn

I think it`ll be a few bits of black and a lot of rust...

Located the sprocket and brake disc on the axle:

26079195af.jpg

Put down a tig root pass:

26079224dc.jpg

And cause i don`t trust myself welding tig i ran a mig bead over it:

26079233cm.jpg

Sprocket is made out of some carbon steel, so i had to preheat it:

26079245tu.jpg

Then i faced the brake disc flange:

26079249xm.jpg

Put the axle together:

26079251eg.jpg

And put it back in:

26079256pl.jpg

Made a mount for the brake caliper:

26849821pq.jpg

Put some air pressure in it to align everything:

26849829zc.jpg

Finished:

26849837zt.jpg

Then i made a battery mount:

26849841mw.jpg

26849845xu.jpg

26849850cl.jpg

Put in some gussets for the trailer hitch:

26849856rz.jpg

Preheated the drive sprocket:

26849860wx.jpg

Welded it to the coupling:

26849863ei.jpg

And put it in some blankets to cool it down nice and slow:

26849869hp.jpg

Then i made a fitting for the gas tank:

26849878do.jpg

And brazed it in:

26849879mz.jpg

Mounted the kill switch:

26849890bu.jpg

Made the first chain guard:

26849897ma.jpg

And started with the second one:

26849898aj.jpg

Maybe i can test drive it tomorrow.

Before i could continue on the chain guard i had to block the right exhaust outlet. So i turned a disc:

26864146rj.jpg

And welded it in:

26864162dm.jpg

The upper part of the chain guard:

26864225zk.jpg

Front side piece:

26864243mz.jpg

26864275wt.jpg

Didn`t have the right size tubing so i had to machine it:

26864309vx.jpg

Before welding it in i tacked in the rear side piece:

26864338io.jpg

And welded everything together:

26864363fe.jpg

Took it apart and welded everything:

26864391sf.jpg

Every connection that didn`t have a lock nut got Loctite when putting it back together:

26864451hz.jpg

Finished the steering:

26864483ji.jpg

26864490hj.jpg

Made the brake line:

26864505la.jpg

26864521fs.jpg

Flared it:

26864538tv.jpg

And bled it:

26864545sr.jpg

Then the only thing that was left was this mess:

26864589xx.jpg

So i mounted the charge controller:

26864594dh.jpg

The fuse box:

26864603vo.jpg

The ignition ecu:

26864617yx.jpg

So i didn`t have fuel lines, gas or the right connections for the battery. I was about to leave and call it a day when i thought it`d be a good idea to hook up the battery somehow and see if it turns, cause the battery isn`t new. So i rigged up this setup:

26864730ie.jpg

Turned right over:

26864647dv.jpg

Then i remembered that i stil have the old gas tank laying around and it should still have some gas in it. So i hooked it up and let the carburators get some fuel:

26864675am.jpg

Then i pushed the start button again:

Wired in the probably most important part of the vehicle, the kill switch:

26875797fy.jpg

Wired the battery in:

26875798ey.jpg

Ran some fuel lines:

26875800un.jpg

Put some gas in:

26875803gi.jpg

Moved it to the other part of the shop:

26875805qg.jpg

And hung it to the crane to test some stuff before it`s sitting on the ground. Luckily i did that, cause the clutch didn`t work. It was engaged at all times:

26875807qi.jpg

So i removed it and got it working...

26875812ev.jpg

Then i drove around quite some time in front of the shop. Unfortunately no video cause it was dark:

26875816mr.jpg

Appears everything is working pretty well. Need to adjust the idle and wire the fan asap. Any ideas on that? I`m thinking on just a simple switch cause there`s no water to place a temp switch.

Love the video. Must have scared the neighbors to see and hear that little tiger rolling by. I think the only thing missing is a way to emit dark oily smoke form somewhere on the machine . . .

So i pulled it out of winter storage today and it fired right up. This is how i like it. :grinpimp:

End of last year it started making funny noises out of the gearbox. Today it went with a bang and didn`t move at all. Well, didn`t have to look for long to see what`s wrong:

29124089mv.jpg

Removed the gearbox. It already had some cracks and was repaired when i got it. Thought i`d give it a try. At least it held up quite a while:

29124091ev.jpg

29124092vs.jpg

Gears and bearings look great so i just have to repair (read: make new one) this mess:

29124094uw.jpg

Also going to fit some new wheels up front:

29124096vi.jpg

Probably need to build a new front axle with some kind of suspension cause the wheels won`t compress any more...

Thanks.

First i drilled the mounting holes:

29170798ub.jpg

Transfer punched the centers:

29170800rm.jpg

Flew in the four jaw chuck:

29170802zi.jpg

Dialed it in:

29170803lc.jpg

And finished the first side:

I wish you were my neighbor!

I consider myself a good fabricator, and make many parts. But, you are one hell of fabricator, machinist, engineer, and all around dreamer!

Great work.
