Getting close on the rack!
Should have the finalized rack this afternoon with both locking side doors.
Until then here are a couple pics of the one door.

I really like where this is going! I know your goal is to offer a rack that fits over the Softopper, for load carrying and perhaps security, but what you have now with the side doors looks like it's very close to replacing the Softopper ... Either as an AluCab-style canopy, if you had better weather-sealed side doors, and an added an aluminum front wall and liftgate; or working with a convertible or boat top maker to add fabric top and sides. The latter wouldn't be quickly folding like a Softopper, but would still be light, openable, and easy to remove. I might be very interested in either one.

Thanks, I have considered the same thing and may do it some day but with my current manufacturing sources I don't believe I could produce at a price that would be affordable and profitable at the same time.

here is the final rack!
I have many more bolt on options in the works as well. Here are some pics

without the tent or top. The goal is to have the cab roof rack that's in the works bolt to the cab and the load bars be the same height as the bed rack, due to the curve of the cab it seams that the bed rack is higher than needed but that's not the case.
The rack weighs 44lbs and the doors are 11 lbs each.

This project is junk. You should probably just give it to me and start building something cool.

Kidding!! I'm usually all about welding junk together but I really like the bolted together look of that rack. And 44lb!?!? Well done.

Very impressive, are you having the aluminum custom bent and shaped to get that look or do you have the equipment to do that yourself?

Thanks!
Starts on cad and then off to the laser cutter for forming, then back to my shop for finishing and welding.
I don't have the equipment for mass production yet.

Got a chance for a little testing out in the Yuba gold fields! Everything worked great and having the axe and machete easily accessible inside the rack doors came in handy as some of the trails needed some clearing.
