BoldAdventures 2015 Power Wagon Build

Awesome build! I've never liked dodge trucks at all, but these power wagons are pretty sweet!

I felt somewhat the same about them after my 2007, it wasn't a bad truck, but they just didn't do anything for me. After reading all of these build threads about Power Wagons and seeing the pics of their capabilities, my other half and myself grew fond of them and ended up buying one of our own.

Nice build man! I follow you on youtube as well. So I saw the question a few pages back but is there any interference with the rack and the cover? The rack website makes it seem a rollup will work but not the folding ones per se. Do you have any pics of where the rack and cover come together? I'm working on a deal for a Delmonico Red 2018 that hopefully gets finalized tomorrow. Last hurdle....gotta take the wife for a ride and let her drive it as well.

It has been said repeatedly that rear Thuren coils will kill your payload..... That might be sorta true if you don't know what you are doing?? I don't' want to exaggerate.

I'm going to do a more in-depth video explanation here when we leave Moab. I spent about two hours dialing in my WD hitch. And got the Airstream and truck perfectly level. Achieved over 100% FALR and towed this whole combo nearly 560 miles over the weekend. I also visited the CAT SCALES to get an accurate picture of what's going on with the truck and weights for each axle.

A few surprises there as well. It's a lot to go over and attempt to type up, so I think the video might be easier for folks to absorb.

That being said, we towed this setup weighing in at a GCVWR of 15,860lbs without the use of airbags. And the ride was smooth, stable and completely manageable. So you can run Thuren's rear coils, Kings and perhaps still get away without using Airbags on lighter travel trailers.

I'll share cat scale tickets and things later, right now is Moab play time for the next 3 weeks.

I switched to a roll up, because my BakFlip was a POS. It fell apart within a years time. I was tired of spending big money for covers that break. So I went with a cheap soft cover. Becuase after spending over 800 twice in a row, I was done with that. A roll up with the rack would work a lot better. The Bakflip did not work. I just left it on.

Just finished reading through. Great build! Congrats on the weight loss as well! I’d love to ask “how” you’re going about that, but let’s not derail this awesome thread. Have a great time in Moab!

Well we already started testing things out in Moab. The wife and I are BLOWN AWAY at the performance of the King shocks. These things aren't just for going fast. Us guys who go slow and crawl can have a comfortable ride too. THEY ARE AMAZEBALLS.

Played on Metal Masher yesterday, hiked Bull Canyon. Once the rest of the group gets here this weekend, the real fun begins. Have a number of trails planned. Most excited about running Moab Rim, Kane Creek, Cliffhanger and a few others.

What Thuren valving did you go with on the Kings?

I spoke to Don about my needs thinking Stage 3 and he came up with something adjusted to me. We went over terrain and my annoyances, the weight I carry and few other points. I do a lot of crawling and slower stuff.

It's always best to reach out to them for the Kings before you go ordering.
