Hey guys,
This week I started replacing the headgaskets on a 3.0 24v montero I got for cheap.
When I started disassembly I made sure to set up the cam timing with the valve cover marks which one would assume lined up the crank marks.
I started to put everything back together, made sure my timing was correct at cams and crank.
When I went to start it it cranked over but stopped.
It kinda wanted to start but then the starter gave out.
I removed the fan clutch and I turned the crank with a long handle and it moves with some resistance up to a certain point. But then it gets harder to move.
Obviously something is wrong here, my question is, if I set the timing before I removed everything and never moved the crank how can I mess up?
I hope I havent damaged the valves.
Should I remove the spark plugs and try to move the crank?
Thank you for your time.
