Finally got around to installing my spring spacer. Got a solid 2" lift. I made the fronts myself and used 80 series fronts in the rear. No noticeable change in ride , my be a little stiffer in rear.

Cool. I'd like to see pictures of the spacers. You just used stock LC 80 front springs, what about shocks and struts? Did the stock ones still work?

So is there any advantages to using an actual lift kit with longer springs vs. spacers? I'm going to be installing a lift on my gen 3 soon and am trying to think through if there would be any draw backs with the spacers as the suspension cycles? I sure like the price better.

I did spacers because they where cheap and I could machine fronts. The rears are a 80 series land cruiser spring spacer available from many different suppliers. Search spring spaers. There will be no spring rate increase in the front. The rear increased because you are adding a spacer in I limited area. But all the spring replacement kits increase the spring rates anyway.

Interested, sent you an email.

So my only concern with adding spacers is that the spring will bottom out on its self before the bumpstop fully stops the upwards suspension travel, which will damage the spring over time.

Is this a problem, or am I not thinking about the suspension geometry correctly????

Can't happen in the front. The rear maybe but I doubt it pretty big space between coils ever with the spacer installed. This is a very popular way to lift in Australia and South Africa. That's where I found the info.
