I've finally got my trailer to where I want it for trips. Figured I'd put small build page up.
Started with a silver eagle lttDSC_2729.jpgDSC_2730.jpg flat deck trailer as a base. All aluminum, pretty light for how burley it is.

Then changed the pintle hitch to a max coupler, and added a receiver front as well as in the rear.DSC_3050.jpg

got an adjustable over canopy aluminum rack designed for a pickup truck and modified it to fit the trailer as a rtt rack. Picked up a CVT Mt McKinley RTT to go on top. As well as an awning for the kitchen side.DSC_3120.jpgDSC_3122.jpgDSC_3126.jpgDSC_3125.jpg

During the above camping trip, the rack broke on the welds. The tie downs got us through the rest of the trip.
When I got back I started beafing up the rack and finally putting in an enclosed box with an m1101 tailgate.368954368955368956368957368958

powder coated the box. and added a battery system with two led spot lights for reversing and camp set up. as well as an led strip for the kitchen area and inside the trailer bed.

This is how it sits now. always more to do but pretty happy with it so far.IMG_20160910_171218.jpg20160910_170230.jpg20160909_122202.jpg20160909_122213.jpg20160909_122229.jpg20160918_202326.jpg20160918_202347.jpg

Very Cool!! Did you build the rack yourself? I'm going to be building my own and any tips on where to beef it up would be helpful. How do you like the tent? I think I am set on the CVT Mt Denali. Keep up the great work, it is really turning out pretty cool.

Thanks! I bought the rack. It's a westcan over canopy rack. The welds didn't hold on offroad so I put in the triangle braces up top and on the bottom to stiffen it up. The rack comes adjustable so was a good sit on this trailer as I could set it up the way I wanted.
Cvt tent is great. We are a family of 4 and it gives us good amount of room. Used the tent a lot and it's been great.

Nice job. Looks like a nice camping trailer. Love that you kept the sides open to double as free tables.
