The Syncro Doka built to go anywhere you dare to take it.
This is an original 1989 Syncro Doka delivered to Canada reportedly as a mining support vehicle. It was legally exported to the US where it lived in Idaho for a number of years and an Audi motor was installed.
It was purchased in 2011 by the current owner and fabricator Sean Dunn of Dunn Tech Motorsports. The goal of the rebuild of the vehicle was to create a modern off-road and road vehicle that is both comfortable and capable wherever it is driven.
It has a long list of features including the beautiful and fresh tan paint that stands out in the crowd, the aggressive off-road stance, the reliable running gear including a 2.4L GM Ecotec engine, completely fresh transmission by Ricky Wright at The Wright Gear Box including a locking rear differential, both Fox bypass and Fox coilover shocks, a one off engine compartment with a completely custom engine and transmission cradle, racing fuel cell, custom exhaust, the first set of Method Race Wheels ever to be placed on a VW Doka, a complete nose to tail replacement and upgrade to the cooling system including new lines throughout, new radiator and fans to keep things perfect. Custom tube bumpers and skid plates front and rear are fully functional to protect this incredible drivetrain.
Inside the cab the seats have been covered in tweed and the dash upgraded to modern gauges and switches. A Vintage air system has been installed to bring modern A/C to the cab to keep things cool on the hottest days. You can also open the rag top to bring in fresh air as in as well.
Additionally the Doka has recognized every time it has been shown to include the "Promoters Choice" at the 2014 VW Classic and "First In Class" honors at the 2014 Bug-In, the only two times it was taken out.
Overall this incredible Doka is a head turner wherever it goes. At a recent O.C.T.O. Fest it was parked just outside the split window only area. People from the meet could not believe the attention to detail and craftsmanship put into this show stopper.
