04 DC build

I recently got this truck after having an old 92 pickup. I got it in January of this year. I have only done regular maintenance on it and my wallet intends on keeping it stock for now.

I've done plugs, t belt, water pump, brake flush, power steering flush, diff fluid in front, rear and transfer case.

Specs:
04 DC Limited
5vze V6
4wd with factory diff lock
265/75R16 BFGoodrich KO's
2015 Tacoma steel wheels
Magnaflow muffler
Air horn from lowrangeoffroad
K/N drop in filter

I've done a few mods to the truck also.

I mounted my stream light charger on the drivers side kick panel for easy access while off-roading and camping.

Also I put an analog thermometer in my vent to see how cold my a/c is blowing while driving. And it's hot as hell in Arizona!

I ground down the throttle body gasket to flow more air. Doesn't do much, but I thought it would help!

I also have a sub and amp behind the drivers seat for some added bass. Nothing fancy.

I have the factory tire tools and jack behind the rear seat as well. Along with miscellaneous items for camping, first aid and off-roading.

When I did my brake flush this is what the fluid looked like before, in the process and after!

Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks for looking!

Got some donor upper and lower control arms. Used the air hammer to get the old bushings out. Easy peasy. Cleaned them up a bit. I'm not in desperate need of them now, but I will have them when I need them!

Had to get a new factory intake tube for my truck the other day. Noticed that the old one was cracking. Pics to come.

214k on the truck now. Did an oil change on it yesterday and rebalanced my tires.

Took the truck out to pick flowers for our wedding!

Put over 2600 miles on the truck I the last 12 days! It feels good to be home!

Found some fj coils at work so I swapped the springs.

There is little difference in height but it helped a bit.

Pretty cool and I'm sure you can keep that thing running for another 100k easy with as care as you're giving it. My first Toyota was a 2003 extra cab and same color as yours. I have an 04 Tundra now but still miss the way my Tacoma drove.
Bonus points for picking your own wedding flowers .

Took the kids out yesterday since my wife and I were off from work. First snow we've seen in years. The dogs loved it!

The previous owner had installed the rear shocks wrong and when I would raise my truck on my lift at work, the rear axle was not straight. It was like it was leaning. Some guys here at work have seen this before. The rear shocks are two different part numbers I guess. Being that one is longer than the other. So I swapped sides. Easy fix. Thanks for looking!

Nice truck! I've always admired these, they just hold their value like none other. The resale on these is just insane!

Newest mods:

Little led light I got from a buddy, wired into the bright switch.

Bug deflector since my other one got ripped off while I was washing my truck one day.

My wife is almost 9 months along now, so I figured it might be a good idea to install my car seat base for my son.

Nothing compared to IGOR, but hey, it's still a Tacoma.

Figured it might be time to change the left front tire which has had a huge chunk missing from the inner edge. I have no idea how long it has been like that. I noticed it when I was doing my last oil change.

My buddy got new tires and gave me a couple of his "old" ones.

I used another one of the tires he gave me to replace my original spare tire underneath the truck...yeah the DOT is from 2003...never been used, but the sidewalk was hard as a rock when I was dismounting the tire...

I had a 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner, extended cab. I've always said it, and i'll say it again, "If it was 4-door and 4x4, i'd still have it". They are, in my opinion, a perfect rig.

Agreed. The short bed is either a deal maker or breaker, depending on what you want to do with the truck. I hope that I end up retiring with mine as my DD.

Yeah I can't do anything crazy with the income I'm making right now, but compared to a few years ago, damn it feels good to be able to just have a full tank "most" of the time!! Hahaha

The only thing I would change about the truck is the back seat doesn't have much space behind it. I wanted to put a small sub back there but I tend to be that one guy that has more stuff than needed. Rubber gloves, jackets, axe, saw, jack and tools, ratchet straps, tarp, bungee cords, jumper cables, two first aid kits...probably more stuff I'm forgetting. Maybe one day I'll lay everything out on the ground and take a picture of it all. It's a lot.

Thanks for the input guys.

Hey guys! Hope everything is well, just checking in with an update.

I've been feeling a pulsation when coming to a stop. Knowing the front pads are still okay, but the rotors are probably shot, I'll see if I can turn them if I can't, I'll get new ones. But for now I figured I would turn the rear drums to see if it helped.

Sure enough most of the pulsation went away. I'll come back to the front rotors later. I just have to measure them and see if they are in spec. Thanks for looking.
