Sits perfect, looks **************'!
Hope you got a big smile on your face, when you stepped back and looked at it.

What are your thoughts on waterproofing the wood, so you won't have to worry about stream crossings, etc.

I did....Smiled ear to ear like a opossum... I took Frank's (from vintage technology) advice and went with Smiths clear penetrating epoxy sealer. I'm going to use 3 coats on the bottom of the floor then 2 coats of fence post sealer. At least that's the plan for now, but building this teardrop is like going to war.....Everyone has a plan till the first bullet fly's then everything goes to pieces... I did get alot of stuff ordered yesterday, I went ahead and ordered everything I need to finish except interior lights and the aluminium. Even got my AC/heater on the way...Hope this thing works out..

I got the hatch framed up this weekend, I wouldn't call it a victory it was more like a horrible monster I fought for an entire weekend and finally killed..I'm tired and glad it's done....LOL

Im getting ready to build a teardrop similar to the one that youre building. Can you tell what the approximate dimensions are for the body? height, width, and length...thanks in advance! Really sweet build by the way:Wow1:

It's a 8 ft long 5 ft wide and 4 ft tall, The walls are 3/4 birch. I did go 5 wide because that's what it takes for a queen mattress. I've never camped in a teardrop so I was worried about the size inside with 2 people and a dog.

Nice job on the XJ jonb8 and I'm really enjoying your tear drop build. I'm finishing off an expedition trailer build and plans and parts acquisition are well under way to follow up with a tear drop to be towed behind my XJ. I'll be following this!

That's about the same size I built mine, except I went 5 feet high as well as wide.
You will be happy with the extra width for the matress!
