XJ and offroad teardrop

I have thought about that. My wife is not so convinced that an RV or a Bus is the way to go. We have a travel trailer (23') that works for the family camping adventures, and for my personal backroads fun, I had a CDN M101 adventure trailer, but sold it. Now looking at a custom camper for my Ram or maybe a contractor style cap with a hard shell RTT on it. Weekend getaway unit.

In the future, I can see doing a bus or a Sprinter or something for just my wife and I. Once the kids are not into joining us anymore... because they are too cool. One day I will build something rad from an old Bus or an Ambulance chassis. For now...I will live vicariously through folks like you! heh

I looked into 4x4 ambulances real hard, they were just to pricy for what they were... Wore out ambulances.... LOL I've already put enough money in a capable 4x4 I just need something to sleep in and tow it with...

Its true.

So many of them have hundreds of thousands of miles on them... and they had dead people in them. Yuck.

Well the new axles are under there and it's outside... I still have a drag link/ Pitman arm problem, it doesn't steer full lock to Passenger side... At least the other 99 problems are worked out...

Still have a roof rack to build, but other then that it's pretty close to being done... I'll be glad to move on from this project...

I also took the 35's off the teardrop and downsized to a 32" tire.. The 35's are just to big and to hard to get in and out of when your old like me...

Since I went from a 12.50 to a 10.50 tire, now the fenders too wide and I never liked the squared off rear bumper so I decided to take care of that problem while I was at it.

Looks good with the smaller tires... and the XJ is looking tight!

Thanks Greg, The axles out of the xj were built last year with 456's and a rear locker so I'm going to put them under my Comanche so they don't lay around... It's never ending it seems...

I had to do something with the 456 axles that came out of the Teal jeep so I put them under my woods truck... A lot peppier now....

Took a break on the xj and had to get the Crown Vic ready for the Gambler 500 race at the end of the month.. It's a 500 mile race in 500 car, mostly through the backroads of MI... Almost done just need to finish the front bumper... 3 inch lift and 31's

Yes, it's got the 466e and an Allison auto trans... 30ft bumper to bumper...

Nice combo. It should serve you well for years to come. 30' is a good size, still manageable and enough room for well...a room, as in a bedroom and a bathroom! Not sure if you "Netflix" or not, but I watched this a few weeks ago, and it made me happy...and want a bus.

I finished the gambler car and ran the Gambler 500.. what a blast, everyone should do it once... I've been wiring on the xj and ordering a lot of parts to get it finished. We leave for Colorado and Moab in 3 weeks and I'm no where near ready.

Have most of the parts I need for a hummer style snorkel I'm going to "attempt".. to build, I like the River Raider style snorkels but they don't make them for a xj.. So like everything else on this jeep I'll build it myself.... No since of spoiling myself by ordering something..... LOL
