Very cool, I have wanted to try making a set. Just have zero room for a press. Do you press or vac bag? Skibuilders.com?

Sorry for the late answer, have been busy skiing.

I use vacuum bags for pressing. I registered a few times at skibuilders but never got back an email from the admin so i gave it up.

Ok, so i`m finally back home:

And back working on the Sprinter. This will be the safe:

Can now put a lock on it:

And mount it to the seat base:

Needed something to hang my up chains to prevent something like this:

Some flatbar to the rescue:

Will mount to the bike rack like this:

Started on the water heater. Removed it:

Cleaned it and put a service kit in:

31556909mf.jpg

Tested it:

31556917qu.jpg

Didn`t like it and bought a new heater:

31556929ah.jpg

Then i figured out a way to control it:

31556936ru.jpg

Bought some new connectors so i don`t have to mess with the oem wiring:

31556959qk.jpg

Wired it in:

31556958jt.jpg

Also the water pump:

31556965dw.jpg

Mocked up some stuff on the inside. Still missing some parts:

31556964sw.jpg

31556963ds.jpg

But enought to give it a try:

31556966ty.jpg

Works pretty good. Takes about 20min from cold car to a warm floor.

Put in a new exhaust pipe:

31556967ua.jpg

Then i removed the passenger seat:

31556971cu.jpg

Mounted the safe to one side:

31556970cl.jpg

And the inverter on the other:

31556969vj.jpg

Also put in a new serpentine belt:

31556974gj.jpg

And a fuel filter:

31556973px.jpg

And mounted the chain carriers:

31557025hw.jpg

Finished plumbing the hot water system:

Removed the oem spare tire and carrier:

Started adding a bit more security:

31610051en.jpg

Yes i know it can be broken easily. But not by the guy with a screwdriver.

And got it inspected for two more years:

So i got the last bits for the heating system and wired it in:

Front part finished. Will leave it like that for now until i have time to make a nice panel. There will probably be some changes too:

31643420oh.jpg

Then i fixed the broken ski box :

31643423bv.jpg

31643424nh.jpg

And tried to prevent it from happening again:

31643426oa.jpg

Mounted another switch panel in the back:

A few days ago it began giving me troubles starting when it was parked a while. It`d fire up and die instantly. The i had to crank a while to get it running. So i suspected a leak between the tank and the prefeed pump. Couldn`t find anything obvious so i replaced the small fuel line at the filter feed cause i had to remove it when i replaced the filter and may have damaged it. Didn`t look that bad, but not good either:

31643430hn.jpg

Started right away the next morning. But i noticed a drip of diesel on the line between the filter an the pump so i replaced it:

31643431fh.jpg

Ran fine the next few days. But it was parked for two days until today and it wouldn`t start as it`s supposed too. Same symptoms, but nas nearly as bad as the first time. So there must be a really small leak somewhere but i can`t locate it.
Pretty pissed off right now cause where gonna leave for a roadtrip in about 3 weeks and i need it to run perfect.
Probably remove the intake manifold tomorrow and replace every damn diesel line on the engine.

Finished my anti theft stuff. Put in some rivnuts:

31784976gc.jpg

Boltet down some chains:

31784978fa.jpg

And locked:

31784991tj.jpg

31784990lo.jpg

Put in some new rear brakes:

31785037oc.jpg

Changed the brake fluid. Dang valves were beaten up. Needed some nice words to break loose.

31785032ac.jpg

Eventually got them to surrender:

31785030kj.jpg

Topped up the transfer case oil:

31785034nm.jpg

Put in some cavity sealant:

31785036dx.jpg

This will be the tool box for longer trips:

31785029hs.jpg

Will be stored in a nice aluminium box on the roof rack:

31785025zn.jpg

And done. Something more coming tomorrow.

Ok, so i`m going to call this build finished. Took me a lot of time and even more money. But i think it was worth every single minute and penny:

It truly is a fantastic, well-thought out, and well-executed van. You have continually amazed me at the speed at which you get things done. You deserve to get full use out of this beast. Go forth and post pictures!!
