Looped through starting and ending in Bucharest. Over all great ride...it did get wet and cold for some portions, but that's why we buy good gear right? Had the right gear and stayed comfy through 42 and raining without issue. Also hit towns of Brasov, Sibiu, and Fagaras along the way.
The Transfagarasan lives up to the hype. It was right up there with my best rides of all time. The road was fun, and the views were spectacular. I came up the pass from the north and then after the tunnel crossing at the top was met with one of the more spectacular views I have ever seen from the ground as the storm system on the southern side of the mountains was getting trapped in the valley.
Couldn't have asked for a better use of a day off work.
