Help - Editing GPX files?

I'm trying to clean up GPS files I have created in Leadnav. I have mapped out the majority of the roads and routs I'm comfortable running in northern Baja, but have no easy way of editing specific routs in the Leadnav app. I've tried uploading the GPX file into google earth, but the program becomes sluggish and frustrating to use. I've also tried Garmin basecamp, but its is requiring me to hook up a Garmin device in order to upload satellite imagery (I don't own a Garmin device). Can anyone suggest a program to edit and cleanup a GPX file?

I'd also like to be able to add mile markers to specific routs. In essence, I'm trying to create routs that look similar to the gps files SCORE and NORRA issue for their races.

Thanks,
SW

TrailTech's ride leader software will probably do what you're looking for and seems pretty simple for the little bit I've used it.

I use Garmin's BaseCamp software.

You import the file in, make a copy, make the changes to the copy and your good to go.
