Kickstarter deals and products

I decided to start this thread to keep an eye out for good deals on kickstarter items.

https://www.kickstarter.com/

Most recently the TREDpro kickstarter was a huge hit:

https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/recovery-treds-_deals_.400371/

I know I cant be the only guy that likes to browse kick starter for any good deals on upcoming products!

If anyone sees any good kickstater items that would benefit us, please share and post!

I will updated post #2 as much as I can to include any active Kick Starters.

I recently backed this product and can't wait for it to come in. There are many times we camp and are not happy with the location of the fire ring or the risks involved in a vulnerable fire ring.

A Little more about them:

Before folks get to excited you should look into the failure rate of these kickstarter projects. When you send your money you are NOT buying a product at a discounted price. You're buying the possibility and that's it. You are funding a startup in the hopes it pans out. You're an investor and nothing more.

As long as you understand that then feel free, but if it all goes bust and you take a bath you really have no complaint. Something to reflect on.

I believe if the goal is not met then you are refunded. If it is, then yes you are assuming the product will pan out successfully.

The goal isn't the issue. It's what happens to all that money AFTER the goal is met. That's when you become an investor, hoping their business model is sound, hoping the product actually gets manufactured, and hoping the marketing promises are what actually get delivered.

The whole Earl Adventure tablet should be a cautionary tale to those looking at these crowdfunded projects.

This is true and most of us know that.

That's why its ideal to stick to smaller items :)

Kick starter thread

@ OP, thanks cool thread. I've backed a couple projects, but often takes so long to scan through the projects to find cool stuff.

On the portal fire ring/can looked at those as well, really cool but a little pricey. While searching other forums I found a fire pellet fire ring, that turned out to be made by a guy I have run into before while exploring death valley and on a couple forums (Silverbob, if you heard of him)? Bought one right before my last trip to DV Nov 3-6. Worked great. Husband and wife, actually dropped it off at the post office on their way out of town so I would have it in time. Nice SS construction

With pellets; no sparks, very little smoke, burns down reducing 10lbs of pellets into 1/2-1 cup of ash.
