SOLD: Jeep JK Habitat AT Overland/Ursa Minor Vehicles J180 w/ Nemo Tent RTT

For sale is a gently used Jeep JK Habitat! It's in great shape, only camped in a few dozen times, has the Nemo tent, interior LED lighting in white and red (ideal for any lighting condition), USB power and 12v cigarette lighter port in the cabin, etc. and is currently with John at Ursa Minor Vehicles in San Diego (recently came off my JK). The Habitat offers an incredible amount of space when deployed, the "upstairs" comfortably sleeps up to 4 adults - it really is the ultimate roof top tent! I'm selling as my family discovered they prefer a teardrop trailer for camping, so we're going to head in that direction.

Asking $7,500 OBO, pick-up and possible installation at Ursa Minor Vehicles in San Diego (highly recommended, John and his crew are great!). Note, buyer pays any related installation fees. Sale includes the Habitat, bumper brackets (for support poles), support poles, crank/handle to deploy the tent and a spare seal kit.

I'm also selling my AT Overland interior equipment, I'll be happy to put together a package deal - send me a PM if you're interested!

For those of you at Overland Expo West, you may have seen us parked out in the field - the tent performed flawlessly despite all the wind!

Exterior photos from when I bought the rig in April this year (before shipping to CA) - note the previous owner added durable Line-X bedliner to the exterior:

Post-Holiday bump - happy to help coordinate a visit to Ursa Minor Vehicles in San Diego to see it in person and/or coordinate shipping if you're not close to SoCal. Happy New Year!

Hi MMDan, I'm selling because we discovered that a trailer works better for our family. We rented a SoCal Teardrop from Off the Grid Rentals and the family fell in love with - I'm sure one day I'll end up regretting the sale (it's really an amazing setup) but that's the direction we're going... at least for now!

Still available!

Hi all, the buyer I had lined up decided to go with a smaller J30, so this is still available! Please send me a PM if you're interested in more information!

There is a whole lotta room in the J180 as compared to the J30. I wish I could snag this. GLWTS.

I can't believe it's still for sale. If only companies like ursa had east coast representation... I could justify the expense of shipping to an UM shop out here to get it installed more than I could driving my junk all the way to Cali or Oregon.

Free bump for you.

Hi Outside Somewhere, I spoke with John this morning and he said it would roughly cost between $1,000 and $1,250 to have it crated and shipped to the east coast (to a commercial address). He's happy to get it into a crate (they recently posted a picture of what that looks like on their instagram feed) and ship it to a location/shop of your choice but bear in mind the shop should ideally have a loading dock and/or forklift to take it off the truck when it arrives. Appreciate the free bump!

KellyM, I've never been inside of a J30 but I can guarantee the J180/Habitat is palatial!

Conquest26 - I'm very interested in the camper, but with a few questions. How old is the camper itself? You said it had a previous owner; how long did they have it/ When did they purchase it? The pics don't show the foam mattresses, are they still there? Any idea what it would cost to ship to New Mexico?

Habitat History

Hi kedeedee, the original owner originally had the Habitat installed by Adventure Trailers in 2010 (looks like sometime in the summer). The Jeep it was originally installed on had about 42k miles on it when the top was removed, so it saw relatively little use and was always garaged when it wasn’t on a trip. It’s really in great shape, feel free to give John a call at Ursa Minor Vehicles to ask for a 3rd party opinion.

I don’t believe any of the J180/Habitats shipped with mattresses, this one didn’t have one when I purchased it. I ended up using a Nemo Cosmo 50L insulated pad (which is 50” wide, great for two adults) and it fit perfectly in the sleeping area. It also has an integrated foot pump which makes setup a breeze. If you’re interested the pad, we can work it into the deal (here’s a link to more information - note that mine is orange, looks like they just changed the color to red).

In terms of shipping to NM, I spoke with John (Ursa Minor Vehicles) this morning and he said it could be between $850-$1000 based on the destination address. We’ll be able to get a more specific price once we know exactly where it’s going.

I’ll send you a PM with my contact information to see if we can work something out!
