Many thanks for the info, I will look into that.

You have been a influence me years ago with a lot of what I have now, Autohome - (maggiolina in my case), ARB fridge, awning and various smaller items. My outdoor life has been so improved. Many thanks for taking the time to post things over the years. I know others as well have benefited.

2017 is going to be another year of wonderful camping!:campfire:
You are welcome.
Glad to know I helped lighten your wallet some :D
If you did not see yet, check out my build thread, I now have a new fridge/freezer, the National Luna Weekender 50 Twin.
You might say the Hansons from Expo Overland and X Overland have been an influence on me switching from the ARB fridge to the new one.

I have another project I am working on too, but I am waiting for better weather.
Working on a solar setup for the aux. battery.
I have everything, just a matter of doing some more wiring and getting the pics.
That will be updated in my rigs build thread sometime.

I'm a storage fan/enthusiast and always looking for lighter but still robust cases.

I Primarily use Peli, Zarges and I'm aware of Alu-case however I'm also at the MTM ammo crate utility box.

Without stating the bleedin obvious It's a fine balance of need, fit for purpose and correct use of space too.

Received my final Alubox yesterday, the 73 liter one.
Alu-Box 73 Liter Aluminum Storage Case ABA73

Transferred the contents from the much bigger ECS case, and there is more room in the smaller Alubox thanks to it utilizing all of its available space.
I even have room left over.

This box I decided to pimp out a bit with some of my stickers that have been piling up from purchases.
Not going to test fit this in the rig today, it is pouring outside right now.

Very pleased with my purchase of these, but it was an expensive one for sure.

All three with the same footprint stack nicely

The two nice trays contents from the ECS case are in two plastic bins with lids on the very bottom, which are hidden from view

Corey,

Great looking gear and nice to see some photos in your FJ for size comparison - versus the stock pictures of them sitting on the ground.
Equipt's website lists the 73 Liter dimensions as 22.8'L x 15'W x 15.75'H. I'm assuming that's the exterior size including the widest portion of the lid. I haven't been able to located interior dimensions. Would you be able to measure that for me?
Thanks

I would have even better photos with all three of them, but it has been raining most of this weekend too, just cannot win for doing stuff outside for awhile.

I just measured the 73 liter one as I was doing some work in it, and it measures:
15" high
14" wide
21.50" long

On the height you do get around 15.75" as the lid let you stack over the rim a bit.
There is not much space wasted since these are thin.

Greatly appreciated. The thinner walls and the weight are definitely the biggest pros pushing me into getting a set. I've always had Pelican cases, but sometimes they just frustrate me when they can't stack and stay put, or just won't hold that extra bit of crap I'm trying to fit into them.

As someone who moved from the Tacoma/Seattle area going on two years ago, I understand the rain holding you up. But, after being down south for a while with the heat and the bugs, you couldn't keep me inside if I was back there.

Thanks again!

It is lightly snowing here now, and it is suppose to get heavier overnight into Monday morning.
Bugs and heat, two things I do not care for :)

Yes,I liked how my ECS cases stacked ad interlocked eve without having the same footprint, but there is so much wasted space with the thick walls.
I think you will be happy with these.
Get ahold of Paul at Equipt, he will get you setup.

Those boxes are nice. The ECS Cases (like the bigger Pelican and Hardigg-type boxes) were designed to protect equipment and components in shipping and rugged transfers. They perform flawlessly (for the most part) in that capacity, though they are a bit large for casual use. I have taken Pelicans and Hardiggs all around the world. I would use the Aluboxes in my vehicles in a casual gear carrying capacity, but I wouldn't throw them in the belly of a Tupolev something-or-other. That being said, they sure are nice. For what it's worth, the aluminum containers that the old military PVS-7A's and B's came in are good for storage as well, and have a seal and a pressure release valve.

Exactly. I have a Hardigg that I snagged from Accuracy International that was a return from a .mil kit for my AXMC. It's indestructible but a complete PITA to use unless it's being shipped commercially somewhere.

Just be aware that if you have metal objects packed in aluminum boxes eventually you will have rubbing and black tarnish on everything in the box. I've got a set of aluminum panniers on my bike and while a bike has a bunch more vibration and movement the same will hold true in your truck, it will just be a slower process. The good news is it's easily mitigated via careful packing and ensuring any metal on metal contact is kept to a minimum.

Cheers, James

I was thinking the same thing. Soup cans, propane bottles and similar items will rub a LOT on a few hours on bumpy logging roads at speed. Foam liners or a spray on of some sort might help, and keep the vibration noise inside the vehicle to a minimum.

I saw on Equipts Facebook feed some cool case dividers that go into containers to organize them.
I may have to pick some up.

Thread bump! I noticed at the Overland Expo at the Equipt booth some sweet brackets to attach to the Aluboxes to the K9 rack. Not available on the website but hopefully ready for prime time in the near future.

Expedition Overland had them installed on their racks I believe in the video where Paul visited them in their new super garage they built.
Did you see the plates that attach to the tops of the Aluboxes that Goose Gear is selling to use as a step?

No, I didn't see that but from talking to Paul it sounds like the clamps will be available for retail in late June.

The Alu-box fit perfectly on the roofrack of my Autohome Maggi extreme. At one point a mechanic did not listen to me and managed to catch his garage door on it....promptly ripping off his door, with just a slight warp to the box and not enough to warrant replacement. My only complaint was a mfg defect where the rivets were loose and falling out on one corner. Equipt offered to replace the box but shut down communication when I requested a credit or shipping refund. Great box though and would buy another.
