I ordered a roll of 600 thinsulate from hein and insulated the van. It was very easy stuff to work with. The 2 front doors were kind of a pain because you don't have much access into the door cavity. The difference in the sounds of doors when shutting is very noticeable, it sounds more like a quality vehicle now.

I got some of that 600 too and it definitely helps! Another thing to do is put some Butyl based sound dampener on the metal directly. This will actually keep the metal from resonating and then the insulation will absorb most of whats left. The deadener is especially good for doors and panels that have speakers in them. My E350 rang like a bell, but i did 25-50% coverage on most panels and extra up by the engine.

I haven't gotten much accomplished on Bertha lately. A few small things otherwise just been driving it. I'm really amazed at how nice the van rides and drives.:smiley_drive:
I did add a light bar to the front bumper to finish out the looks a little.
I also added a receiver hitch since she didn't come with the tow package. I still need to add the trailer wiring, still trying to decide what to go with.

I wanted to take the van on a extended weekend camping trip over the long 4th of July weekend but still haven't settled on a bed design yet. I want something that can be removed and the seats put back in when I need a people hauler.
I made a wood platform to fit a double mattress and ordered a 6" memory foam mattress from Amazon for now and to get a better idea of what i want.
We left Friday and drove gravel and logging roads up to Lake Superior. The weather was perfect! Then traveled east along the lake into the upper peninsula of Michigan stopping along the lake to camp. The bed worked great, I did decide that a roof rack or cargo carrier is needed soon for extra storage.

The waterfall pictures here all all from the UP, we did stop at copper falls in Wisconsin also. The sandy beach picture and ferry picture are from the Apostle Islands. The rest are scattered from all along the way.
