My FJ60

Thanks for the positive comments everyone

It certainly has body rust that needs addressed. Probably need to replace the quarters and wheel arches, and there's rust on the inside crevice of the passenger door as well as several spots on the hatch. But, that's the Midwest for you.

The frame is solid, surface rust only. I'm considering cleaning it up with a wire wheel and re painting it black....or wondering if I should just clean it and keep it clean..

Going to document my maintenance and such here on this thread

As already indicated, ih8mud is the best source of information; check out the 60series channel (and look first at the top sticky threads): https://forum.ih8mud.com/forums/60-series-wagons.27/
ih8mud forum works fine on an iphone.

http://www.cruiserparts.net/parts/fj60.html is fine. Here are the main sources for the fj60 parts (all known sources in the land cruiser/fj60 world; most of them are on ih8mud; see the vendor forum https://forum.ih8mud.com/categories/vendor-forums.240/):

http://wagongear.com/

I will finish with Land Cruiser Junktion (I bought several parts from him; on ih8mud he is "Mel lowe") which has a lot of used parts: https://www.facebook.com/landcruiserjunktion and his ebay store http://stores.ebay.com/TLC-Junktion

And if you are into LED:

http://www.pfranleds.com/land-cruiser-60-series-fj60-fj62/ (super bright reverse LED light)

Enjoy your FJ60!

Great looking 60 and only $3000? Man, I wish I could find a nice one.
Yeah it mainly looks nice in pictures

Rear quarters and arches are rusted out

Little bit of surface rust on the hatch and a few other places...insides of door near hinges

She's not perfect

The frame is solid though, so that's good

I've owned a couple of diesel 60s. Wish I still had one. I paid $2000 for my last one, and I bet it's worth $12,000 now!

Good looking 60, that's a score. I imagine you will have that a long time. I really enjoy the graphics on it too.

Hello all!

I've been recently shopping every single day for a Jeep XJ, old 4Runner, Xterra, or suzuki...even looking at Mitsubishi and Isuzu.

Well yesterday I drove home in a 1983 LC.

You dodged a bullet there! The rust is all manageable. There used to be weld in panels available. Not sure if they still are. If not, you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain so break out the welder and some .023 and give'r hell!
