I'll admit it, had a set of those when I was a teen...snow would pack inbetween the blades and lift them off the windshield. At least they looked stupid...

Bosch ICON...treat with 303 when needed, but typically just replace them once they are at that point. I tend to replace mine every fall regardless because nothing sucks more than crappy blades in the winter.

Pretty much this and I actually have the Bosch replacements on my Suburban. Same for replacing tires, too. I might stretch a set thru the spring / summer, but if I'm needing new I get them for sure before winter.

I remember when you just got rubber inserts. Our Honda Pilot still does on the rear window.

Yep, a wiper change used to be $5-6 for a pair of blade inserts. Now it's $30-40 to change both heads. Damned scam.

Then again, at one point a new Ford cost $1,500.00


I replace the blades with Bosch (the articulated kind, not the single blade deal) twice a year.


What are these silblades you guys are talking about? Where do you get them?

I also use Goodyear blades from Costco. Currently on sale, at least here in Albuquerque.

I run the Canadian tire Teflon metal blades. Conventional styling and work great!
