Tiger Truck LLC of Oklahoma is an affiliate of ChangAn, the third largest vehicle manufacturer in China. Tiger Truck assembles knocked-down versions of ChangAn's utility vehicles. The vehicle lineup includes single cab and crew cab pickups, a cargo van, and a 4x4 model. Engine choices include gasoline, flex fuel, diesel fuel and electric models.

Presently, Tiger Truck's vehicles are not approved for on-road use in most states, so the Oklahoma facility sells to off-road users (mining, farming and so forth) and for sale in foreign countries with less stringent requirements for on-road use. Prices start around $13,000.

Tiger Truck has big plans for 2009. They plan to introduce a street legal version of a cab/chassis with 14,000, 17,000 and 21,000 lbs GVWR. The new truck will be powered by a four cylinder diesel engine. No word yet if this new model will have a 4x4 option.

Tiger may beat Mahindra to market with a diesel pickup in 2009!

Kia makes some stuff likt that for the rest of the world. THey are interesting little vehicles and could be a good option for a D.D. provided that you can get the llarger cab models in 4x4. I bet the gas versions get great MPG given the small motors.

It's about the size of a Wrangler Unlimited, but only weighs 2800 lbs.
The bed is 8.5 ft long, and the vehicle is rated to carry 3800 lbs!

Seems like atleast once a week I'll be driving home from work and spot a flat bed semi trailer with 4 or 5 on these rolling West out of Phoenix. Pretty much atleast once a week, for the last few months or so, so apparently somebody in the U.S. is buying them, or selling them.

all the japan manfs make them as well. Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Suzuki, etc. Ive had friends bring a few over and they are cool little rigs. their called kei trucks or japan mini trucks. lots of configurations with where motor is mounted, fwd, rwd, awd. dump beds, mini vans. quad cab with mini beds...what they offer is endless. from what im told the Daihatsu hijet is the one to get. theres quite a few sites that sell them now. lots of aftermarket too. lifts kits, lowering kits, and most use the same wheel bolt pattern as side by sides, so lots of aftermarket wheels too.
