I am thinking about using a "bed step" in lieu of running boards to make getting in and out of the truck cab a bit easier. These steps fold up or in when not in use, so wont catch as easily on rocks, etc. Has anyone tried this, or used a folding step for bed access? My concern is they will work well when new, but after being exposed to weather & dirt they will be difficult to fold/unfold.
