What have you done for seat back organization?

I'm interested in personal experience of what you all have done. Most of the stuff on Amazon looks like crap. Seat backs seem like prime real estate to organize the little bits and doo-dads.

I want to:
  • Back organizer only, no seat cover
  • Molle is nice, but not really necessary as long as it has a good selection of pouches and pockets
  • Store tools, maps, commonly used items, de-clutter center console

So far I've discovered

Blue Ridge Overland Gear https://www.blueridgeoverlandgear.com/MOLLE-Seat-Back-Panel-14-x22-p/21msb14.htm
- pricey-ish
- no pockets included, so total cost is easily 100+ once you buy molle organizers
- would be nice if it maximized the space on a seat back, fitting the contour of the seat better

I have a set of Springfield solutions mills panels, they're like the blue ridge ones except they're rigid and the mills goes long ways if you turn over the panel, they're pretty awesome

I was using paintball Molle vests until Blue Ridge came on the scene. I have one panel on the back of the D/S in my Porsche and use another one on the front passenger seat. I keep my water bottles , camera within reach as well as other items . I also use the insert from a range bag. Perfect for a box of tissues snacks glasses, small binos. I'll post pictures after work.

Since the BRO is just a Molle panel, what are you using for pouches?

pouch wise I've been going primarily for condor stuff, it's not the top of the line but at the same time IF it breaks, it falls on the truck floor, it's not like your entire life needs reorganized to fit it into your pack, so far I'm pretty happy with it

I use shoe pockets! I'm very happy with them.

You know those things that hang on the back of a door, and have about 20 pockets for shoes? I cut one in half horizontally, and put half on the back of each of the front seats in my rig. Very tidy looking, and they hold a LOT of stuff. Black, Ikea.

I cannot post a photo because I am new here. But google may help.

Good idea. I had originally envisioned something with pockets... great for quick access. I did a few searches, and I can't find one with a decent design. I'm thinking of doing one seat w/ a pocket design, and the other seat with a Blue Ridge molle panel. I've never used Molle before. It looks inconvenient. Maybe it's better suited for infrequently used items like first aid and recovery. But, everyone seems to use them so I guess it is worth a go.

what's inconvenient about MOLLE? It's an attachment method. You buy or make the pouches you want, arrange them as it suits you and make the MOLLE attachment ONCE.
Could you explain further why you call it inconvenient? Are you trying to release the whole pouch via the MOLLE strap / snaps every time you need need something, instead of just taking the contents out of the mounted pouch? That's the only way I see it being 'inconvenient' and it is not how MOLLE is supposed to be used.

As for a seat back organizer, one of the easiest I've seen was usign a MOLLE version milsurp load bearing vest, mounted backwards on the seat back, front of vest on the back of the seat. Then build it up however you want. There are a wide array of such systems available today. Many spawn form the law enforcement world, many are modifications of mil gear.

I suppose you're right... it all comes down to choosing the right molle pouch to fit your needs. I pulled the trigger on a few of Blue Ridge's products. I'll post back when I get it installed.

edit: alright, I'm hooked on molle. I started searching the 'net for possible pouches... there are a million different options and they all look good!

So, I ordered the Blue Ridge grab handle bag, but I no longer have grab handles in my OCD quest to remove all plastic trim from the interior. Browsing Mcmaster, trying to match center-to-center bolt lengths... I instead came across this:
https://www.mcmaster.com/#1550a5/=17d85mv

I think this will provide a ton of attachment options and work well

I went with this option from Grey-Man Tactical. This is some pics of my 07 FJ.
