3rd gen 4runner wheels on a 2nd gen Tacoma?

A buddy of mine is looking to build up his 2012 TRD (Sport) Tacoma. It's got some atrocious ghetto rims (18's? 20's?) from the PO that need to go. He likes the looks of the 235/85r16's that are on my first gen. Taco, and I wouldn't mind selling my wheels and tires to him since I've been thinking about 15's so I could run 33x10.5x15's anyway. But, the rub is (get it? rub?), my wheels aren't actually Tacoma wheels, they're off a 99 or 00 4runner.

After some googling, I can't find any confirmation that my wheels would fit on his truck (and he lives about 90 minutes away, so swapping in the driveway to find out isn't an option. At least for a while). Anyone know if they'll swap over? I've found TONS of folks putting newer wheels on older trucks, but nobody going the other way. Little help?

Thnks chunko, but I think you're showing the wrong wheels for the ones I currently have. Should be 16" rims like seen third from the top of the page here: http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1997/toyota/4runner/driveshaft_-ar-_axle/wheel.html
That shows mine having 5.5" backspacing, which sounds right, I think.

Here's what should have come on his truck: http://www.autorimshop.com/toyota-tacoma-2012-17-wheel-rim-69463.html
I believe that's a backspacing of 5.5" too, right?

So every should fit, can anyone confirm or refute?
